ABOUT DR. ROBERT KROEGER Dr. Robert Kroeger, a native of Youngstown, graduated from The Ohio State University’s College of Dentistry and served four years in the U.S. Navy, where he ended with the rank of lieutenant commander. Kroeger is a second generation artist, taking after his father Francis. A career as a dentist allowed Kroeger to study color values and facial esthetic principles in smile design with his professional art career blossoming later in life. Kroeger’s focus on barns pays tribute to a disappearing piece of American history. Representative of America’s agrarian roots, a farmstead’s barn served a multitude of purposes, from housing equipment, animals or grain. Today, most barns are used for storage space. With the high cost of maintenance, the number of barns is dwindling. He is the author of two books on dentistry and seven books on golf in Scotland, England, Wales, and Ireland. Dr. Kroeger lives in Cincinnati with his wife Laura, where they enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.
