Join us for a special free event entitled "The Language of Flowers" at The Arts Garage on Monday August 1, 2022 at 6:30pm.
Port Clinton resident and reenactor Brian Shifflet will discuss how people in the 19th century would send messages through flower arrangements and what they meant. This was especially popular while courting, he said.
Shifflet will discuss the history of floriography (the language of flowers) and he will demonstrate some arrangements with flowers from his garden.
This program is FREE and part of the Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council's monthly "Evening Out with Art" series.
Please reserve a spot by emailing ottawacountyarts@gmail.com so we can have an idea of how many people to expect.
The Arts Garage is located in the old city street department garage at 317 W. Perry Street in Port Clinton, Ohio.
